THE PLEASANT MONTH OF MAY by ANONYMOUS

Last Line: "SO YE MAIDENS AND YE SWAINS, ETC"
Subject(s): LOVE;MAY (MONTH);SINGING & SINGERS;

The pleasant month of May
Is now a coming on,
The fields are a springing,
The trees are in full bloom;
So ye maidens and ye swains,
Like lambkins do play,
And it's welcome, ye shepherds,
And sing lull, lull, lull a-day.
And it's now in the pleasant month of May, month of May,
In the month of May.

Now that I am single,
And I can take no rest,
All in my true love's arms
I should think myself blest;
So ye maidens and ye swains, etc.

Now that I am married,
And I can take my ease,
All in my true love's arms
I can do just as I please;
So ye maidens and ye swains, etc.
