AS ONE WHO STANDS by ANONYMOUS

First Line: AS ONE WHO STANDS AT EVENING BY THE OCEAN'S LONELY SHORE
Last Line: I HEAR ABOVE LIFE'S SURGE AND FLOW THE SONGS MY MOTHER SUNG
Subject(s): MOTHERS;

AS one who stands at evening by the ocean's lonely shore
May hear the voice of Memory above the breakers' roar,
So, clam and clear and beautiful as bells for curfew rung,
I hear above life's surge and flow the songs my mother sung.
