CANADIAN SONG (1) by ANONYMOUS

First Line: "DARK, AND THE SHELLS ARE FALLING"
Last Line: NOW I AM VAINLY DREAMING - / DREAMING OF YOU
Subject(s): ARMY - CANADA;WORLD WAR I; FIRST WORLD WAR;

Dark, and the shells are falling,
Thick as can be.
Somewhere the Sergeant's bawling—
Bawling for me.
Night, and the rain is teeming,
Oh, Mountain Dew,
Now I am vainly dreaming—
Dreaming of you.
