MAIS OU EST LE PREUX CHARLEMAGNE? by ANONYMOUS

First Line: "OLD PRIDE AND CONSEQUENCE, WHERE LODGE THEY NOW?"
Last Line: "ONE HOME, OBLIVION, IN THE PIT THEY SHARE"

OLD pride and consequence, where lodge they now?
Where's the great Lydian Croesus? Xerxes where,
Whose yoke constrained the stiff-necked Hellespont?
One home, oblivion, in the pit they share.
