The Great Spirit's lodge -- you have heard of it. I will enter it. I have always loved that that I seek. I go into the new green leaf lodge. I shall give you a share, my friend. I go into the bath -- I blow my brother strong. I wish to wear this, my father -- my friend. What! my life, my single tree! -- we dance around you. I wish to see them appear -- that that has grown -- I wish them to appear. What are you saying, you mee da man? This -- this is the meda bone. My kite's skin is fluttering. All round the circle of the sky I hear the Spirit's voice. The Wabeno tree -- it dances. How rings aloud the drum-stick's sound. I walk upon half of the sky. I sound all round the sky, that they can hear me. You shall hear the sound of my Ta-wa-e-gun. Do you understand my drum? I sing the raven that has brave feathers. I am the crow -- I am the crow -- his skin is my body. I wish to go into your lodge -- I go into your lodge. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE SILLER CROUN by SUSANNA BLAMIRE THE RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER by SAMUEL TAYLOR COLERIDGE PROMETHEUS BOUND: PROMETHEUS THE TEACHER OF MEN by AESCHYLUS KINDLY VISION by OTTO JULIUS BIERBAUM NO CONTINUING CITY by EDMUND CHARLES BLUNDEN CHIVALRY AND SLAVERY, SELECTION by JOHN BURKE |
