SONG OF THE WANDERING KNIGHT by ANONYMOUS

First Line: MY ORNAMENTS ARE SWORD AND SPEAR
Last Line: MAY BID THESE KNIGHTLY LIPS KISS THEE
Subject(s): SAILING & SAILORS;TRAVEL;WANDERING & WANDERERS;; JOURNEYS;TRIPS;

MY ornaments are sword and spear,
War is my pleasure near and far,
My bed the cold green turf alone,
My quenchless lamp yon trembling star.

Long are my journeys through the day,
Brief are my slumbers in the night;
Thy spirit haunts me as I go;
I kiss thy token with delight.

From land to land I swiftly ride,
And ever sail from sea to sea;
And trust, fair lady, fate some day
May bid these knightly lips kiss thee.
