STUDY FOR A GEOGRAPHICAL TRAIL; 1. SEATTLE, by CLARENCE MAJOR Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: The neat sky was tall, full of sliding birds Subject(s): Seattle, Washington | ||||||||
The neat sky was tall, full of sliding birds. I was sunk low in the wet trees, surrounded by brown grass and butterflies. I had no castle to look at. I was out of my mind. Without tenderness, I was out of breath. In my memory the city continued to tease. Used with the permission of Copper Canyon Press, P.O.
