THE CREATION, by CECIL FRANCES ALEXANDER Poet's Biography First Line: All things bright and beautiful Last Line: Who has made all things well. Alternate Author Name(s): Humprheys, Cecil Frances; Alexander, C. F., Mrs. Variant Title(s): Maker Of Heaven And Earth Subject(s): Creation; Nature | |||
All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all. Each little flower that opens, Each little bird that sings, He made their glowing colours, He made their tiny wings. The rich man in his castle, The poor man at his gate, God made them, high or lowly, And order'd their estate. The purple headed mountain, The river running by, The sunset and the morning, That brightens up the sky. He gave us eyes to see them, And lips that we might tell How great is God Almighty, Who has made all things well. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...INTERRUPTED MEDITATION by ROBERT HASS TWO VIEWS OF BUSON by ROBERT HASS THE FATALIST: HOME by LYN HEJINIAN WRITING IS AN AID TO MEMORY: 17 by LYN HEJINIAN LET US GATHER IN A FLOURISHING WAY by JUAN FELIPE HERRERA IN MICHAEL ROBINS?ÇÖS CLASS MINUS ONE by HICOK.
