CHARTLESS, by             Poem Explanation     Poet's Biography
First Line: I never saw a moor
Last Line: As if the chart were given.
Subject(s): Death; Faith; God; Heaven; Religion; Sky; Dead, The; Belief; Creed; Paradise; Theology

I never saw a moor,
I never saw the sea;
Yet know I how the heather looks,
And what a wave must be.

I never spake with God,
Nor visited in heaven;
Yet certain am I of the spot
As if the chart were given.
