First Line: The sun's relentless hand
Last Line: And my forgiveness seeks.


Friend: The sun's relentless hand
Its burning light has cast
On you, and left a brand
That never moon surpassed.

Poet: But, recognizing now
The havoc that he wreaks,
He lowers his pale brow
And my forgiveness seeks.
