EDONI: THE WORSHIP OF COTYS, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: Kotytto's ritual feast they keep
Last Line: Like the voice of a thunderclap underground.


KOTYTTO'S ritual feast they keep.
One handles the chiselled wood that hums
Its droning music full and deep
To work on the soul till frenzy comes;
The brasses clash as a second sings;
Another howls to the twang of strings;
And the roar of a terrible bull-like note
Keeps time, from some invisible throat,
While tom-tom beats with a fearful sound
Like the voice of a thunderclap underground.
