ROSES, by AL-GHASSANI First Line: Roses, roses fresh and fair Last Line: In the middle of their cup. Subject(s): Flowers; Roses | |||
Roses, roses fresh and fair Shining on the summer air In their jackets crimson bright And their tunies snowy white. These in virgin whiteness are Dazzling like a lustrous star. Those in crimson splendour show Radiant as twilight's glow. Others have a golden gleam In their centres, that would seem Grains of sesame, heaped up In the middle of their cup. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE WHISPER OF THE ROSE by EDMUND JOHN ARMSTRONG THE WISDOM OF THE ROSE by ELSA BARKER LOVE PLANTED A ROSE by KATHARINE LEE BATES ROSES; A VILANELLE by LOUISA SARAH BEVINGTON THE PAINTER ON SILK by AMY LOWELL VARIATIONS: 17 by CONRAD AIKEN |
