AUREOLA, by NELLIE COOLEY ALDER First Line: Your spirit goes in pearl and rose Last Line: That's when I love your spirit best. Subject(s): Flowers; Hearts; Kisses; Love; Roses | ||||||||
Your spirit goes in pearl and rose A winsome aura, Heart Most Dear Love flows from lips and fingertips In gracious contacts sweet and near. And when its hue is royal blue You wear its cloud with regal mien; In vapors kissed by amethyst You walk alluring and serene. Or if you wear in veil and hair A shining amber's sunny ray, Carefree content and merriment And lovesome laughter fill the day. You glow in blue or coral hue, You gleam when gold your soul is drest, But when it goes in pearl and rose That's when I love your spirit best. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE WHISPER OF THE ROSE by EDMUND JOHN ARMSTRONG THE WISDOM OF THE ROSE by ELSA BARKER LOVE PLANTED A ROSE by KATHARINE LEE BATES ROSES; A VILANELLE by LOUISA SARAH BEVINGTON THE PAINTER ON SILK by AMY LOWELL VARIATIONS: 17 by CONRAD AIKEN WORDS IN A CERTAIN APPROPRIATE MODE by HAYDEN CARRUTH DESERT WIFE by NELLIE COOLEY ALDER |
