First Line: Spelled like a quest between the eyebrows, as the day's red
Last Line: And shimmering folds of arctic jewels veiled her, and made the earth a sanctuary for her sake.
Subject(s): Nature

Spelled like a quest between the eyebrows, as the day's red pearl swung from its loose cincture may
strike her knee,
Girt with a band of sendaline wrought heavy with dark stones, lambent with breath-taking mystery:
All the wings of dawn furled their rose and gold at Her feet,
And night used the span of space to lift a crown of glittering glamour for Her head,
And spring rain sent forth the Name of Her upon its breath,
And summer spread fields of grain and corn beside Her path,
And autumn hung garlands on forest trees along the way She went;
But winter called down the north and built a tabernacle of of white flame to keep Her memory,
And shimmering folds of Arctic jewels veiled Her, and made the earth a sanctuary for Her sake.
