ENCHANTMENT, by
First Line: Now autumn leaf-fires have come to this
Last Line: Till warm spring sunlight bares each scar.
Subject(s): Autumn; Seasons; Fall

Now autumn leaf-fires have come to this;
Wrapt in a shining chrysalis,

Stony creek-bed and rutted hill
Swathed in cerements white and chill.

Let no footstep the magic mar
Till warm spring sunlight bares each scar.
