THE ewe-buchtin's bonnie, baith e'enin' and morn, When our blithe shepherds play on the bog-reed and horn; While we're milking, they're lilting, baith pleasant and clear; But my heart's like to break when I think on my dear. O the shepherds take pleasure to blow on the horn, To raise up their flocks o' sheep soon i' the morn; On the bonnie green banks they feed pleasant and free, But alas, my dear heart, all my sighing's for thee! | Discover our poem explanations - click here!Other Poems of Interest...VARIATIONS: 13 by CONRAD AIKEN TALKING RICHARD WILSON BLUES, BY RICHARD CLAY WILSON by DENIS JOHNSON THE BRIDGE by ALEXANDER ANDERSON THE RABBI'S SON-IN-LAW by SABINE BARING-GOULD MISGIVINGS by WILLIAM MATTHEWS THROUGH AGONY: 1 by CLAUDE MCKAY HEMATITE HEIRLOOM LIVES ON (MAYBE DECEMBER 1980) by ALICE NOTLEY QUICK AND BITTER by YEHUDA AMICHAI WERENA MY HEART'S LICHT I WAD DEE by GRISELL BAILLIE AFTER TU FU (THEY SAY YOU'RE STAYING IN A MOUNTAIN TEMPLE) by MARVIN BELL |
