FROM AN OFFICE WINDOW, by FRANCES M. BALLARD First Line: The tulip bed is flaming in the square Last Line: Than in this high tower where I stand. Subject(s): Alienation (social Psychology); Flowers; Office Work; Estrangement; Outcasts | ||||||||
The tulip bed is flaming in the square, Crimson and lovely against the dim, green trees; The yellow sunlight over it Makes a picture like an old Dutch print. If I could find a little peace Away from clatter and the click of keys -- Where I could have the cool earth close to me, I might find Thee also nearer Than in this high tower where I stand. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE HOUR BETWEEN DOG AND WOLF: 2.
