SWEET SIXTEEN, by H. W. BANKS First Line: Her voice - like rich and mellow notes Last Line: What must the blossom be? Subject(s): Beauty | ||||||||
HER voice -- like rich and mellow notes Of thrush, in woodland glades, That fall upon the listener's ear, As evening twilight fades. Her laughter -- like the merry brook That flows o'er mossy stones, And bubbles forth its careless mirth In soft and silver tones. Her beauty -- like the budding rose, With tints as fair to see; A beauty perfect in the bud, -- What must the blossom be? | Discover our poem explanations - click here!Other Poems of Interest...GOD IS AN AMERICAN by TERRANCE HAYES VARIATIONS: 14 by CONRAD AIKEN DIVINELY SUPERFLUOUS BEAUTY by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE BEAUTY OF THINGS by ROBINSON JEFFERS HOPE IS NOT FOR THE WISE by ROBINSON JEFFERS LIFE FROM THE LIFELESS by ROBINSON JEFFERS REARMAMENT by ROBINSON JEFFERS SHANE ONEILLS CAIRN by ROBINSON JEFFERS |
