SUNSET ACROSS THE LAKE, by AUGUSTA M. BARNEY First Line: I sit and watch the sun go down Last Line: And I catch a glimpse of it. Subject(s): Evening; Heaven; Lakes; Sunset; Twilight; Paradise; Pools; Ponds | ||||||||
I sit and watch the sun go down On the other side of the lake, As all the colors from the sky The waters try to take. It is such a wonderful picture, The Artist, too, is the best, And as I enjoy its beauty The sun sinks low in the west. And the gates of the New Jerusalem Seem left ajar for a bit, A golden path leads across the lake And I catch a glimpse of It. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A MAN GETS OFF WORK EARLY by THOMAS LUX THE FRIARY AT BLOSSOM, PROLOGUE & INSTRUCTIONS by NORMAN DUBIE SONGS FOR TWO SEASONS: 2.
