OH, wha is like my wee wife,
My wee wife, my wee wife;
Oh, wha is like my wee wife,
Sae leal an' true to me.

The wee bit singin' birdie
Is happy in its nest,
The laughin' dautit bairnie
Upon its mither's breast;
The lammie on the brae side,
The hare upon the lea,
An' my wee wife, my wee wife,
Brings happiness to me.
Oh, wha is like, etc.

When vex'd wi' pride an' folly
I sit me doun an' sigh,
Or mourn that care an' sorrow
Should ever come us nigh.
The clouds that hing aboon me
Awa' awa' they flee,
For ae blink o' my wee wife
Is sunshine aye to me.
Oh, wha is like, etc.

When life is in the gloamin',
An' eerie fa's the nicht,
An' gropin' in the darkness,
We weary for the licht,
Oh, then, oh, then, thegither
We'll lay us doun an' dee.
For heaven without my wee wife,
It werena heaven to me.
Oh, wha is like, etc.
