A GARDEN spot may be a noisy place Where droning bees Seek honey, spiders weave their silver lace Upon the trees, And little birds sing songs the livelong day. Or it may be so silent that it seems The flowers sleep, And shy, mysterious virgin dreams Their vigil keep, And God communes with earth the livelong day. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LINES WRITTEN TO A TRANSLATOR OF GREEK POETRY by MARGARET STEELE ANDERSON THE LESSER BEAUTY by MARGARET STEELE ANDERSON WORK by MARGARET STEELE ANDERSON IN MEMORY: MISS JEWETT by GRACE ALLERTON ANDREWS HERE ENTER NOT by KATHARINE CANBY BALDERSTON I CLEANED MY HOUSE TODAY by KATHARINE CANBY BALDERSTON MY GARDEN by KATHARINE CANBY BALDERSTON THE FUGITIVE by PRINGLE BARRET |
