A TRIBUTE TO DAD, by CLARA MCKEE BEEDE First Line: My dad, he's a star in the heavens Last Line: Let's give them the honor that's due. Subject(s): Honor; Labor & Laborers; Memory; Work; Workers | ||||||||
My dad, he's a star in the heavens, As I muse I can see him right now, How he labored and strove for our bread, How he taught all his children to bow To God who is just and is kind, Who gives from his bountiful store The food for the soul and the blessings That always bring joy and much more. Dad said that air castles will vanish While clutching and climbing and sliding, Yet God, in our hearts and our lives, Makes hopeful all day long our striving. He feared the evil of wrong-doing And prized the things that are upright; He toiled all the day for his loved ones, Thanked God for health and the sunlight. And dads in the land, they are many, Their memory ashining with light For the feet of the sons and the daughters Who are living and struggling for right. And dads in the land, there are many, Their labor unselfish and true. To them ever dear and so faithful, Let's give them the honor that's due. | Discover our poem explanations - click here!Other Poems of Interest...ODE TO BIG TREND by TERRANCE HAYES AFTER WORKING SIXTY HOURS AGAIN FOR WHAT REASON by HICOK.
