FAUN, by ANGELO PHILIP BERTOCCI First Line: Pour me my bath of sunlight Last Line: Drenched with spring fragrance of trees. Subject(s): Flowers; Grass; Trees | ||||||||
Pour me my bath of sunlight In the bowl of this emerald dell, Spice it with flowers dew-bright, Fresh daisies, the wild blue-bell. Let soft petals float over my head, And flower-fuzz tickle my ear, While I splash in my watery bed Of warm-flowing atmosphere. Spread a mat of cool grass for my feet, While I dance to a capering breeze. Round my shoulders an air-woven sheet, Drenched with spring fragrance of trees. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE PROBLEM OF DESCRIBING TREES by ROBERT HASS THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MIDNIGHT EDEN by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN REFLECTION OF THE WOOD by LEONIE ADAMS THE LIFE OF TREES by DORIANNE LAUX SCHOOLTEACHER by ANGELO PHILIP BERTOCCI |
