THE DIFFERENCE, by
First Line: You spoke one word
Last Line: I had grown old!
Subject(s): Aging; Dreams; Youth; Nightmares

You spoke one word,
And tender wisps of rose and sunset flush
Withered to ashes;
One word,
And the song broke, and nothing filled the hush
But fishes' splashes;
It was a word
While glad dreams bubbled skywards, free and wild,
And boasts were bold;
One word --
Alas, my love, I who had come a child,
I had grown old!
