PSALM 29. AFFERTE DOMINO, by OLD TESTAMENT BIBLE First Line: Ascribe unto the lord of light Last Line: That they in peace shall blessed live. | ||||||||
Ascribe unto the Lord of light Ye men of power, even by birthright, Ascribe all glory and all might. Ascribe due glory to his name, And in his ever glorious frame Of sanctuary do the same. His voice is on the waters found; His voice doth threatening thunders sound, Yea, through the waters doth resound. The voice of that Lord ruling us Is strong, though he be gracious, And ever, ever, glorious. By voice of high Jehovah we The highest cedars broken see, Even cedars which on Leban be; Nay, like young calves in leaps are born, And Leban' self with nature's scorn, And Shirion like young unicorn. His voice doth flashing flames divide; His voice have trembling deserts tried, Even deserts where the Arabs bide. His voice makes hinds their calves to cast; His voice makes bald the forest waste; But in his church his fame is placed. His justice seat the world sustains; Of furious floods he holds the reins; And this his rule for aye remains. God to his people strength shall give, That they in peace shall blessed live. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...PSALM 121 by OLD TESTAMENT BIBLE PSALM 136 by OLD TESTAMENT BIBLE PSALM 139 by OLD TESTAMENT BIBLE PSALM 8.
