THE DAY, by
First Line: I love the early morning
Last Line: The air is fresh alway.
Subject(s): Day

I love the early morning,
At the time of break o' day,
The rose is full of fragrance,
The air is fresh alway.

I love the midday hour,
The time of the noontide heat,
I take a short siesta,
From all weary tasks replete.

I love the evening shadows,
The sun having died away,
A reverie awakens
Of joys of a bygone day.

And when the day is ended,
And when nature's balmy sleep
In gentle arms enfolds me,
And her loving vigil keeps,

To guard me till the morning,
At the time of break o' day;
The rose is full of fragrance,
The air is fresh alway.
