THE WEAVER, by CHARLES GRANGER BLANDEN Poet's Biography First Line: The shuttles of the sun fly fast Last Line: Are shuttles, weaving dreams. Subject(s): Weaving & Weavers | ||||||||
The shuttles of the sun fly fast Between a warp of boughs; The master weaver's at his work, Fulfilling all his vows. In spring, his loom is full of bloom, In summer full of green; But when the crickets wake and sing, His Tyrian wares are seen. With royal purple, red and gold, With brown, or silver gray, He dowers each weed and bush and tree -- Then wanders far away. He fares unto a realm of snow, To test more subtle gleams; On wintry nights, his Northern Lights Are shuttles, weaving dreams. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...WEAVERS ALL by MINNIE KEITH BAILEY OCTAVES by THOMAS EDWARD BROWN MY HEART WAS ANCE by ROBERT BURNS THE GALLANT WEAVER by ROBERT BURNS THE WEAVER'S DREAM by ALICE CARY THE TAPESTRY WEAVERS by ANSON G.
