AUTUMN SUNSET ON THE SIERRA NEVADAS, by DOROTHY BOARDMAN First Line: I love the autumn view Last Line: Over all the landscape valley. Subject(s): Autumn; Seasons; Sierra Nevada Mountains; Fall | |||
I love the autumn view, With colors every hue, What joy to see the sunset glow Beneath the clouds, beams of yellow Casting golden light over all The village in the valley. Mountains blue in deep shadow Covered by dense clouds of snow Another moment, see the change, Rich red is now reflected Across the clouds' low wavy surface. Such heavy clouds surely must Promise an early flurry of snow. It will blanket the wind-blown leaves That cover the parched fields and gardens. The sunset glow now casts a light, Weird in color, so dazzling a yellow Over all the landscape valley. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...OUR AUTUMN by ELIZABETH AKERS ALLEN AN AUTUMN JOY by GEORGE ARNOLD A LEAF FALLS by MARION LOUISE BLISS THE FARMER'S BOY: AUTUMN by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD A LETTER IN OCTOBER by TED KOOSER AUTUMN EVENING by DAVID LEHMAN EVERYTHING THAT ACTS IS ACTUAL by DENISE LEVERTOV ARMAGEDDON by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON |
