LONG AGO, by
First Line: Now that deep snow
Last Line: Long ago!
Subject(s): Childhood Memories

Now that deep snow
Is over everything
I hardly ever go
To see my swing.

Such a lovely swing
It used to be!
And the apple tree
Used to be
The beautifullest thing
In all the world, to me!
But now it stands so still and bare,
With my poor swing a-dangling there,
All stiff with ice and snow,
That I hardly know
Whether it was I
Or some other boy
That used to be so happy
Swinging there,
Long ago!
