SKETCHES OF THE TEXAS PRAIRIE: 'APRIL RAINS', by GEORGE BOND First Line: There is magic in the april rains Last Line: Of vivid texas flowers. Subject(s): Prairies - Texas; Rain; Plains - Texas | ||||||||
THERE is magic in the April rains That fall day-in, day-out upon the prairie; Silver the big drops fall through the gray day, And silver at night they gleam on the long grasses When the dim stars show. Soft is the music of their silver-clinking, And soft their patter on the lone, dwarf trees; Over the prairie grasses and the flowers, They drop a veil of music and of color, A silver veil that sings a silver song. And through it breaks the purple and the gold Of vivid Texas flowers. | Other Poems of Interest...MERCY AND THE BRAZOS RIVER by WALTER ROBERT MCDONALD SETTLING THE PLAINS (1) by WALTER ROBERT MCDONALD STARTING A PASTURE by WALTER ROBERT MCDONALD WITCHING ON HARDSCRABBLE by WALTER ROBERT MCDONALD FOR ST.
