HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 18, by WILLIAM BOSWORTH Poet's Biography First Line: Mistake me not, my pen was ne'er defil'd Last Line: Excepting this, I never knew thee sin. Alternate Author Name(s): William Boxworth | ||||||||
Mistake me not, my pen was ne'er defil'd With any stain, that may thy honour stain; From all lascivious thoughts I am exil'd; So shall my pen immodest sense refrain; Thou art as free, as pure from any blot, And therefore shalt with lotus crown thy brows. If ever thou didst sin, I knew it not: Excepting this, the fraction of thy vows, I vow by Heaven and all the powers therein, Excepting this, I never knew thee sin. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 1 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 10 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 11 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 12 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 13 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 14 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 15 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 16 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 17 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 19 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 2 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH HINC LACHRIMAE; OR THE AUTHOR TO AURORA: 20 by WILLIAM BOSWORTH |
