Tidy apartment
Airy and high,
Up a tall tower --
An ideal nest
For love and rest.

Joyfully working
She hummed and sang
Never tiring --
'Cause, newly wed,
Her heart's love-fed.

Proudfully content
He lounged and read
Books galore --
Saying ever
He'd make life easier.

Now she needs more rouge
And wonders why
Her darling boy
Without effort
Is so short of breath.
