CAROL, by
First Line: I saw a sweet and seemly sight
Last Line: "my bairn, sleep softly now."

I saw a sweet and seemly sight,
A blissful maid, blossom bright,
That moaning made and mirth of mange,
A maiden mother, meek and mild,
In cradle keep a knave child
That softly slept; she sat and sang,
"Lullay, lullow, lully, lullay, lully, lully, lully, lully, lully,
Lullow, lully, lullay, baw, baw,
My Bairn, sleep softly now."
