SONNETS OF SEVEN CITIES: SAN FRANCISCO, by BERTON BRALEY Poet's Biography First Line: High-colored, sparkling, very much alive Last Line: Her syncopating feet dance on again! Subject(s): San Francisco | |||
High-colored, sparkling, very much alive, Her feet atingle ever for a dance, Her eyes agleam with laughter and romance Her brain alert to vision and contrive, Gayly she greets what fortune may arrive Fearless of any turn of circumstance; Gives destiny a bright, flirtatious glance And fate a winknor cares how they connive. She jazzes to the music of the spheres And then'twixt dance and dancewith sudden thought, She stops to fashion miracles; the years Will look with wonder on the dreams she wrought. And her smiles blithely on her work, and then Her syncopating feet dance on again! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...STREETS OF PEARL AND GOLD by CAROLYN KIZER HIKING ON THE COAST RANGE by KENNETH REXROTH THE STATUE OF ST.
