Pal of my heart, need we to part
After these days
Together?
Each place we went, each day we spent,
Traveling rough ways
And weather.
Part of your life, almost your wife!
Now we've parted
Forever.
Could I come back, to the old track,
Where we started?
No! Never!
Fate knows the need, and has decreed
That we forget
And depart.
Memories return, ever to burn
And linger yet
In my heart.
