HIS NAME WAS KEKO, by THEODORE BRIDGMAN First Line: Under the kiawe he lies - Last Line: Sleep well -- little keko -- Subject(s): Animals; Dogs; Seashore; Speech Disorders; Beach; Coast; Shore; Stuttering; Muteness | |||
Under the Kiawe he lies -- His big brown eyes Must see the sky he loved so well And the wind must reach his ears. The swell Of the sea I think he hears -- The little crabs come out to play And every day Perhaps he runs the beach -- For now he knows The Joy -- the Freedom From the leash -- A little dog -- with not a voice to speak But between us The illimitable deep Of a glance That mutely said, "I know -- " Sleep well -- little Keko -- | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...STUTTERER by MICHAEL S.
