ST. PAUL'S RENOVATED, by CHARLES WILLIAM BRODRIBB First Line: Shine, june on paul's Last Line: For work well done. Subject(s): St. Paul's Cathedral, London | |||
Shine, June on Paul's, Sun, bathe his bases, His echoing walls And soaring spaces. In dome renewed, Sweet, summerscented, His guest be tented In fortitude. All's as before; Pier, arch, and ceiling Confess their healing, Curtained no more. In this bright place Of brought-back beauty, Knees do your duty, Lips say a grace! Thanking each one Of these restorers, Shorers and borers, Proppers and stoppers, Drillers and fillers, For work well done. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest... |
