O DREAM, WHERE ART THOU NOW?, by                 Poet Analysis     Poet's Biography
Alternate Author Name(s): Bell, Ellis
Subject(s): Dreams; Nightmares

O dream, where art thou now?
āàLong years have passed away
Since cast from off thine angel brow
āàI saw the light decay.

Alas! alas for me!
āàThou wert so bright and fair,
I could not think thy memory
āàWould yield me nought but care!

The moonbeam and the storm,
āàThe summer eve divine,
The silent night of solemn calm,
āàThe full moon's cloudless shine,

Were once entwined with thee,
āàBut now with weary pain.
Lost vision! 'tis enough for me
āàThou canst not shine again.
