SHE DRIED HER TEARS, AND THEY DID SMILE, by                 Poet Analysis     Poet's Biography
Alternate Author Name(s): Bell, Ellis
Subject(s): Smiles; Tears; Masks

She dried her tears and they did smile
āàTo see her cheek's returning glow;
Nor did discern how all the while
āàThat full heart throbbed to overflow.

With that sweet look and lively tone,
āàAnd bright eye shining all the day,
They could not guess at midnight lone
āàHow she would weep the time away.
