TO ALLIE, by EDGAR ALLEN BROWN First Line: Adown the crags o' high montrine Last Line: By the sweet smile o' my allie. Subject(s): Courtship | ||||||||
ADOWN the crags o' high Montrine The deer they lo'e to sally; 'T is there I go, be 't rain or shine, To meet my bonnie Allie. The banks o' ripplin' Doon are fair, And pleasant 't is to dally Beneath the shade o' hawthorns there While waitin' for my Allie. Frae 'tween the clouds the sun peeps out And lightens hill and valley, Just as my heart is lightened up By the sweet smile o' my Allie. | Other Poems of Interest...COULEUR DE ROSE by JOSEPH ASHBY-STERRY AS YOU WALK OUT ONE MORNING by GLYN MAXWELL TALE OF THE MAYOR'S SON by GLYN MAXWELL THE RIVALS by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON MARJORIE'S WOOING by EMMA LAZARUS THE FORTUNATE SPILL by MARILYN NELSON |
