THE sacred song that on mine ear Yet vibrates from that voice of thine, I heard, before, from one so dear -- 'T is strange it still appears divine. But, oh! so sweet that look and tone To her and thee alike is given; It seem'd as if for me alone That both had been recall'd from Heaven! And though I never can redeem The vision thus endear'd to me; I scarcely can regret my dream, When realised again by thee. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE APOLLO TRIO by CONRAD AIKEN BAD GIRL SINGING by MARK JARMAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 4 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 5 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 28 by JAMES JOYCE THE SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE IS LIKE THE SCENT OF SYRINGA by MINA LOY ALL IS VANITY, SAITH THE PREACHER' by GEORGE GORDON BYRON |
