SHORE-SPELL, by
First Line: A spell is woven
Last Line: Only the rugged pine trees know.
Subject(s): Seashore; Wind; Beach; Coast; Shore

A spell is woven
Over the land
Where ocean breezes
Sing through pines,
And rollers pound the sand.

An incantation
Wild and clear,
By master mesmerist
Pronounced,
Constraining all who hear.

A charm that lasts,
Ceaseless, sublime,
Until this world,
A speck in space,
Is blotted out by time.

But what the winds say
When they blow,
Only the rugged pine trees know.
