Subject(s): Wisdom

Far hence in the infinite silence
How we shall learn and forget,
Know and be known, and remember
Only the name of regret?
Sown in that ample quiet,
We shall break sheath and climb,
Seeds of a single desire
In the heart of the apple of time.
We shall grow wise as the flowers,
And know what the bluebirds sing,
When the hands of the grasses unravel
The wind in the hollows of spring.
And out of the breathless summer
The aspen leaves will stir,
At your low sweet laugh to remember
The imperfect things we were.
