THE MASTER CRIMINAL, by ROBERT CARY First Line: No prison bars confine him. Rather, king Last Line: From scars the master craven stalks the world. Subject(s): Capitalism | ||||||||
No prison bars confine him. Rather, king And president outweighed, will bow and yield. He games in human lives; the battlefield His bond investment, he is keen to fling Our staunch Americans into the ring When nations vent their jealous hates. His shield Is wet with woman's tears; his heart is steeled To all but gold and bloody profiting. If you who proudly boast of liberty Within the state applaud the flags unfurled In Wall Street mire, you share his infamy. Above his guns the cries of millions hurled Against Hell's furnace, rise to Heaven! And free From scars the master craven stalks the world. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...FRESCOES FOR MR. ROCKEFELLER'S CITY: 5.
