TO THE HARVEST MOON, by EDNA LIND COLE First Line: Oh moon, enthroned in the starry sky Last Line: Oh moon, silently come other wonders of the night! Subject(s): Moon | ||||||||
Oh moon, enthroned in the starry sky, How I love your colorful beams Shining down through the cobalt clouds, Illuminating the world with your splendor! I wonder, oh moon, Can you see with your eyes? Those starlit orbits opened My nomad soul to the silvery moonlight Whose enchanted beauty, wafted down through The night, still trembles on the fragile wings Of the cooling morning winds. Oh moon, tonight Look down into my troubled soul And soothe my lonely heart with your Dancing moonbeams, casting fantastic Shadows over the silent world. Now I feel your strength and Magic power of beauty; for after you, Oh moon, silently come other wonders of the night! | Other Poems of Interest...POEM TO TAKE BACK THE NIGHT by JUNE JORDAN THE MOON AND THE SPECTATOR by LEONIE ADAMS FULL MOON by KARLE WILSON BAKER NO MORE OF THE MOON by MORRIS GILBERT BISHOP THE DEPARTURE by DENISE LEVERTOV THE MOON IN GREECE by TIMOTHY LIU |
