REFLECTION, by GRACE MARY SEELEY CORYELL First Line: Leaves blown over the water Last Line: Over the water like the leaves. | ||||||||
Leaves blown over the water By a wind after sunset Is but passing beauty. It is soon forgotten after many winds blow And the trees are left barren. Sometime, though, the water will remember The trees had some silver in them. One lovely thing will always stay with me But, for the moment, it sifted Over the water like the leaves. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...VERSES ADDRESSED TO IMITATOR OF FIRST SATIRE OF HORACE by MARY WORTLEY MONTAGU THE CLINGING VINE by ANTIPATER OF SIDON ON THE LIFE OF MAN by FRANCIS BEAUMONT THE WANDERER: 1.
