HONEY BOY, by BILLIE MARIE CRABB First Line: Like mountain honey, richly red Last Line: And thus his debt to life repays. Subject(s): Boys | ||||||||
Like mountain honey, richly red From tip of tail to regal head, A thing of beauty, and a joy Forever, is my Honey Boy. Akin to lilies of the field Who neither toil nor spin, yet yield Their fragrant beauty to the earth; And, yielding, justify their birth. He lives his life of silken ease, And strives none but himself to please; Yet walks in beauty all his days, And thus his debt to life repays. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...PORTRAIT OF A BOY by STEPHEN VINCENT BENET THOSE BOYS THAT RAN TOGETHER by LUCILLE CLIFTON THE WHITE BOY by LUCILLE CLIFTON COZY APOLOGIA; FOR FRED by RITA DOVE REVELATION 20:11-15 by NORMAN DUBIE BOY'S SLEEP by NAOMI SHIHAB NYE |
