BREAK DOWN THESE BARRIERS, by
First Line: Long thoughts of you burn in my heart tonight
Last Line: For more of love's sweet secrets would I learn.
Subject(s): Desire

Long thoughts of you burn in my heart tonight,
Flame and leap forth in rays of spangled light . . .
Though you are far from touch and far from sight
Naught shall deter from you my love's swift flight.

I send my thoughts free on the fragrant air
To find your lips, caress your form so fair;
To trace the secrets of your silken hair,
To plead and to be answered like a prayer.

My love still causes my sad heart to yearn,
Still makes this hungry flesh to writhe and burn . . .
Break down these barriers, dear, bid me return
For more of love's sweet secrets would I learn.
