MY ACRES, by AMELIA M. CRECELIUS First Line: Tranquil and quiet Last Line: And stills heart's pain. Subject(s): Home; Peace | ||||||||
Tranquil and quiet My acres lie, Between the lowly hills Tree and fern-clad. Hills which speak Of powers divine Hidden in folds Of rock and earth. Tranquil and serene Let me live life, Amidst the simple hills Clothed in the hue And lacy beauty Of redbuds and dogwood, While at their feet The river moves serene. Here in this peace Of tranquil loveliness, Away from man's Forbidding noisy cities, Nature heals By magic art The wounds of mind And stills heart's pain. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HOW MANY NIGHTS by GALWAY KINNELL THE MOTTO by LOUISA SARAH BEVINGTON THE TRUE BEATITUDE by RUPERT BROOKE MAKING PEACE by DENISE LEVERTOV TWO SONGS OF PEACE: 1 by YEHUDA AMICHAI |
