DEAR ONE, by ELLEN W. CUNNINGHAM First Line: On every stair I see her Last Line: That I love you or none? Subject(s): Love | ||||||||
On every stair I see her. Eyes, face all aglow With memories that cheer The one that waits below. The heart has woven a pattern Around a sweet blue flower Which I can press and flatten Against days many showers. Tell me pretty kitten Why I love you so. Never say I am smitten With another girl to go. Stark terror overtakes me, My dear pleased one.
